You may have listened to this song before, but did you really hear what it says? Most people have trouble grasping the idea that our sole purpose for existance as a species is to seek out and devote our lives to God's pleasure.

I see... But is it all just for him? Or did he want children? Did he gives us life to be his dolls, or to be the angels he wishes to hold close? To teach and show mercy? So we could learn to love and teach others? I always thought it was to create a world where no matter what, you always learned something about life.

Yes, learning about life is always important. Also, it's obvious that mankind were never meant to be dolls, that's why we have free will. However, the fact still remains that any life not devoted to seeking out and bringing about God's will is a wasted existance. So, yes, we are here to "teach and show mercy", and to "learn to love and teach others" among other things.

God and I share a common happiness... I don't feel like a puppet when I love like He does. But I do feel like a puppet when I buy a five dollar footlong at subway, an I-pod or an X-Box because I saw it on TV. I feel like a puppet when I lose a battle with cognative dissonance... but, yeah loving people has never made me feel like a puppet.
